Electric guitar amp head
Ace Amplification's Colt amp head is the boutique, dual-channel alternative to the famous Plexi in "Studio" format. It offers the sound palette of the 4-input '59 series and the 20-Watt 800 series, in a more contemporary French design, making it easy to handle. It's built by Fx Amps with top-of-the-range European components, guaranteeing exceptional sound and proven robustness.
Thanks to its 2 channels, it interprets both amp series with extreme fidelity. The Plexi channel is a typical SLP push drive, which precesses to become more incisive like an 800 on the Boost channel. Each channel has its own front-panel volume and gain control, so you can find the right balance without having to tinker with your amp all the time.
Its 20 Watts provide the necessary power to play on reasonable stages without problems. Thanks to its integrated attenuator, it can be turned down from 20 Watts to 2 Watts, allowing you to play at home while retaining its grain and preserving a very nice bass and dynamics. The tubes, EL34s, are easy to change or replace by 6L6s (for a more American sound), without having to calibrate thanks to its no-Bias system.
Last but not least, its lunchbox format and weight make it easy to transport, and its optimized, robust design make it clearly an amp destined to be moved around without a care.
