A4V white highlights
- Designed for small studios, short listening distances and immersive multichannel setups, the A4V produces full, accurate sound in a compact format.
- This two-way speaker features the classic X-ART tweeter and a 4" long-excursion woofer made from the same multi-layer mineral fibers (MLM) as the other A-Series speakers.
- On-board DSP-based tuning options make it easy to achieve the ideal sound in your listening space.
- With a frequency range from 53 Hz to 50 kHz, the A4V is suitable for a wide range of audio applications - from podcast production to string quartet mixing. It will also fit in perfectly with immersive sound setups.
A4V white Key Features
Swiveling HPS waveguide & X-ART tweeter
ADAM Audio's HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology enables sound to be projected on a more homogeneous plane, wider horizontally but tighter vertically. The A Series introduces a pivoting HPS waveguide. You can rotate the A Series tweeters through 90 degrees, and still benefit from HPS waveguide technology, whether you install your speakers vertically or horizontally.
Uncompromising sound quality
The A-Series HPS waveguide is made from a new glass-fiber polymer compound, which helps create a clean sound without unwanted resonance. ADAM Audio's X-ART tweeter is located in the center of the pivoting HPS waveguide. Handcrafted in Germany, the X-ART tweeter delivers precise transient information response and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in every A-Series loudspeaker to deliver precise sound across the entire range.
Multilayer mineral-fiber woofer
A Series woofers are made from a specific blend of mineral rock fibers baked together to create a lightweight, yet extremely stable material. The mineral composition, stacking and geometry of each cone is specific to the loudspeaker used in each model. By combining this material with the new magnet system, A-Series woofers produce a high output level, with very little distortion, for clean bass.
Hybrid amplification
The A-Series combines the best of the digital and analog worlds. The woofers are powered by Class D amplifiers, which contribute to linear performance while reducing distortion. These amplifiers have been specifically chosen for their power and efficiency, both in terms of power consumption and sound reproduction. Lower heat dissipation allows the use of a smaller heatsink, facilitating further investment in the exceptional power and performance of the A Series models.
Acoustic perfection
Tweeters and midrange drivers are powered by Class AB amplifiers, which reproduce high frequencies smoothly and naturally. Each amplifier is optimized for its operating range. The result is a finely tuned, correctly aligned loudspeaker. To achieve this, ADAM Audio carried out numerous measurements and listening sessions, testing countless amplifiers and amplifier components.
DSP electronics
The A-Series takes advantage of the scalability of DSP electronics to offer speakers that are more precisely adjustable and more stable than their purely analog counterparts. Thanks to firmware that can be updated via an Ethernet connection, you can look forward to ADAM Audio's future advances in DSP, including new features and crossover types, as well as additional voicings.
Room adaptation
At the rear of A Series speakers, you'll find four equalization bands dedicated to adapting to the listening space: Bass, Desk, Presence and Treble. Each band is adjustable in steps, giving you hundreds of options to help you compensate for typical acoustic problems encountered when placing speakers.
Voicings and the "Pure" option
A "Voicing" is a predefined sound profile for A-Series speakers. On the rear panel, you'll find three separate options, "UNR", "Pure" and "Ext", selectable by means of a switch.
"Pure" is an option for very precise, neutral sound. It's the "flat" setting, ideal for mixing and mastering, when you really need to hear every detail and rely on a faithful representation.
"UNR" or "Uniform Natural Response™".
This is a natural, dynamic response curve designed by ADAM Audio and inspired by various historical and mythical ADAM Audio products, including the previous AX series. It's suitable for production and composition, as the presence and charm of its timbre leaves more room for creativity and inspiration. It's also a great option when you simply want to use your speakers to listen to music for pleasure.
A Control software (real-time remote control)
The DSP functions of all A Series monitors can be remotely controlled in real time via Ethernet using A Control software. Customers who have registered their A Series loudspeakers can download the A Control software for Windows and MacOS free of charge from their MyADAM space at www.adam-audio.com.
Room correction & Sonarworks integration
A Series loudspeakers are designed to adapt to changing configurations, preferences and environments. Using A Control software, you can manage advanced crossovers directly within a platform integrated with the monitor speakers, and compensate for imperfect acoustics. This integrated platform supports filters from leading company Sonarworks. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone, you can calibrate your speakers to suit a new room, or new preferences.
Bass Reflex system, baffles and mounting
The new A Series baffles build on ADAM Audio's heritage, particularly the AX Series. A Series baffles are based on an evolutionary design and feature deeper beveled edges to further reduce diffraction. In addition, thicker walls reinforce the baffles and reduce internal vibrations, while a flared vent on each side optimizes airflow and reduces vent noise. All A-Series speakers feature a bottom-mount interface, so you can install them wherever you need them.
Expert opinion
- The ADAM A4V loudspeaker represents a harmonious marriage between the exceptional sound quality for which ADAM Audio is renowned and a compact, versatile design ideal for modern studio environments.
- The ADAM A4V is designed with particular attention to ergonomics and ease of use. Its compact size and light weight make it ideal for small studios or monitoring setups requiring mobility. What's more, its sleek, elegant design blends perfectly into any studio environment, adding a touch of sophistication to your workspace.
