Ashdown Interstellar 600 Guy Pratt Signature

Designed for Guy Pratt, the Interstellar head is a new version of a classic model inspired by Guy's ABM-900. Ashdown has taken the concept of the ABM and focused on tube EQ and saturation to create the Interstellar, which brings a new freshness to the power, reliability and sonic sophistication of the ABM! Guy Pratt has played on a multitude of recordings and shared stages with some of the world's biggest bands. Having played Ashdown amps throughout his career, a collaboration began with the brand, initially for personal use only. The amp had to fit on his pair of Ashdown CL-310 speakers, have an input for his Taurus pedal and look like it came from the 60's. Then it was time to find a name for the amp, and after some thought came the name Interstellar. The name was taken from the Saucer Full of Secrets band with Nick Mason and Guy, who were playing the very first Pink Floyd songs live for the first time in over 50 years. At their gig at London's Roundhouse, Ashdown was surprised to see Guy front and center, a role he'd never really had before. With the inspiration of the night and Syd Barrett's music finally played live by Guy in such an enigmatic way, Ashdown was convinced of his interest in this music as much as in Guy as an artist. Having always made only custom products for Guy, Ashdown wanted this time to create something original that could be available to the world under the name Interstellar, a powerful 600 watt bass amp head beautifully handcrafted in Ashdown's UK Custom Shop. It features 9-band equalization with the option of metering tube saturation at will. Retaining the features of the ABM-EVO IV and the option of controlling compression and sub-harmonics to Guy's specifications via a footswitch (optional), the Interstellar is a highly versatile, feature-packed head.
