Now everyone can mix on the monitors that defined this hitmaker's sound. Thanks to enormous design work and obsessive rigor in details, "white cone" monitors are finally accessible to everyone in an active version: the CLA-10A! Black Box. White cone. High frequency. He's not known for being the best in the world - he's known for being the best in the world - the sound that creates the hits.

So how do you improve on perfection without altering the classic “white cone” sound? By changing the finish, of course!

The CLA-10A Limited Edition offers the classic white cone rendering in a stunning North American Black Walnut veneer, which looks as classic as it sounds!

Original speakers for original sound

Since the discontinuation of the "white cone" studio monitor, replacement components have become more and more expensive and less and less available. Avantone Pro has created an almost exact recreation of the original speakers. Using its global resources and ten years of speaker building experience, Avantone Pro has faithfully reproduced the components, updating the materials to meet modern environmental requirements.

The AV10-MHF tweeter dome underwent a difficult engineering process to achieve the exact dosage of phenolic resin to match the original performance curve. The AV10-MLF woofer uses custom machined mechanical parts like the original. They worked closely with one of the suppliers of the original cone to achieve the exact same stiffness and weight. The only difference from the original is the use of a pressed cone instead of a laminated cone. A closer match is achieved in each cone made, allowing for the first time that matched pairs are available!

One of the most frequently asked questions about the CLA-10As is which version of the originals they are based on, and the answer is: all of them! The CLA-10A features an all-new “VTPC” or “Variable Tissue Paper Control” button. This VTPC allows you to simulate anything from the vertical "m" model to the horizontal "Studio" model and everything in between. No more debating over the best tissue paper to use - VTPC has you covered!

Avantone Pro decided to stay traditional with a linear power supply using a massive toroidal transformer in order to maintain the traditional sound. The CLA-10A uses a monolithic class AB amplifier. At low power, the THD is 0.005%, which is phenomenal; at rated load it is 0.1%, which gives excellent performance compared to class D amplifiers. The system delivers a solid 200 WRMS of power.
