- High-resolution miniature reference ideal for fixed or mobile control rooms.
- Timeless design combined with a unique full-range transducer.
- Evolution of Sound Cubes 5C with a more open and transparent sound response.
- Thicker, denser MDF cabinet for greater rigidity and low resonance.
- Redesigned driver with a 5.25" die-cast aluminum driver/cone.
Key features of Avantone MixCubes
Enhanced sound
Avantone MixCubes offer a more open and transparent high-frequency response, with extended bass, while retaining their original character. Thanks to a redesigned driver, they outperform previous models for a smoother, more precise sound.
Design and construction
The MixCubes cabinet is designed as a 165 mm sealed cube with rounded edges, made from thick, dense MDF board. This choice of material ensures optimum rigidity and low resonance. The "RETRO-CREAM" high-gloss polyurethane finish gives each speaker a modern retro look.
Connectivity and Isolation
Nickel-plated solid metal terminals, mounted on an anodized aluminum plate, provide reliable, robust connectivity. In addition, a 7mm-thick neoprene pad is embedded in the base for non-slip acoustic isolation, and the base features an industry-standard mic stand mount (5/8-27).
High-performance driver
The proprietary 5.25" die-cast aluminum driver/cone, combined with a custom-made paper cone made from New Zealand pulp, offers lightness and rigidity for exceptional performance. MIL-SPEC-grade Y-40 magnets contribute to a powerful, low-distortion motor.
Mixing optimization
MixCubes are designed to test and evaluate a mix on smaller systems without tonal anomalies, enabling more accurate evaluation of the midrange frequencies essential for vocals, guitar and keyboard. A valuable tool for any sound engineer or musician.
Versatile use
Suitable for fixed or mobile control rooms, these passive recording and mixing monitors are used in studios all over the world for their reliability and their ability to provide an accurate sound reference, even at lower volumes.
Vintage aesthetics
The "RETRO-CREAM" polyurethane finish and meticulous design of Avantone's MixCubes make them an aesthetically pleasing and effective choice for both modern and traditional studios, while providing a distinctive vintage look.
Ideal for mixing tests
MixCubes allow you to listen to and evaluate your mixes in detail, faithfully reproducing midrange frequencies without interference from crossovers or medium-quality loudspeakers, ideal for testing on smaller systems.
