Electric guitar combo amp
BLACKSTAR St. James EL34 Fawn, all-tube 50/5/2-watt electric guitar combo, two channels (clean/saturated), Celestion G12Z-70 Zephyr speaker, boost function, digital reverb, HP output can be disabled in recording mode via USB output and Cab Rig application, channel control via external controller.
Available in EL34 and 6L6, combo and head versions, St. James amplifiers sound like the best tube amps, yet are exemplary in their efficiency, flexibility and practicality. On both EL34 and 6L6 models, Channel I (clean) is inspired by the Fender© Black-Face© amps of the '60s. This bright, clear voicing, with solid bass and balanced midrange, can be used as is, but will also be the ideal platform for applying your pedalboard's external effects. Channel II (saturated) offers distinct tones depending on the version. The EL34 model is based on the topology of the early '60s Vox AC-30 Top Boost amp. It generates a mid-level gain perfect for warm, responsive overdrives. Combination with external saturation pedals and/or other effects is highly recommended. A +10dB boost circuit can be activated (footswitch included). It pushes the pre-amp circuit to its limits, opening up new sonic options.
The 6L6 models sound more contemporary, combining the popular cascade gain circuitry for which Blackstar is renowned, with a Marshall-type circuit.
The 6L6 combo and head have a two-position "Voice" switch for traditional/vintage or more aggressive/modern gain, and a selector switch for three power levels with optimum output: 50, 5 or 2 watts. Whether on stage or in your bedroom, you'll enjoy a perfect balance between output level, amplitude and dynamics. An exceptional feature of the St. James is the ability, thanks to an on-board reactive load, to deactivate the speaker output and send the entire signal to a recording system via USB/XLR D.Cab Rig is an advanced cabinet simulation technology whose algorithm reproduces the behavior of various "microphoned" speaker cabinet options extremely faithfully, without any latency or phase mismatch.
This capability is usually reserved for much more expensive amplifiers.
