Compressor, sustain & noise gate effect pedal
The Squish As pedal from Bondi Effects is the compressor you can count on to preserve the richness of your sound while bringing out nuances you might never have noticed before. At its heart, the Squish As is equipped with the best Blackmer® voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) and a True RMS detector. While optical and JFET compressors are appreciated for their musical character, they are often associated with increased distortion, limited dynamic range and a somewhat unpredictable transfer function. The high-end VCA and True RMS detector offer natural, high-fidelity dynamic processing. Use it to make notes more coherent, tame peaks and enhance subtleties; or add depth to your sound with parallel compression by setting the ratio high and reducing the Blend control. With full audio frequency bandwidth and a sensitivity range of -6.3 dBu to -46.3 dBu, Squish As is suitable for a variety of input signals, including bass guitar, high-output pedals (up to +12 dBu) and synthesizer. The -96 dBu noise floor is low enough that Squish As can be used anywhere in the chain. The variable ratio of 1:1 (no compression) to ∞:1 (limiting) can take you from transparent smoothness to brick-wall limiting. Up to 20 dB of make-up gain on the output control and a tilt-style tone control will ensure that nothing is lost along the way. LEDs aren't just for pretty colors. I've found that to understand what a compressor actually does, the most useful thing is visual feedback. That's why I added a gain reduction VU meter to the Squish As. The VU meter indicates the amount of gain reduction in decibels that's happening at any given time. Squish As is the compressor you can really understand.
