United States, 1964, PR. AMAR G. BOSE, passionate about everything to do with electricity, set up a radio repair service in the family home. Over the years, Dr. Bose accumulated a number of patents, which he decided to keep in order to found his own company instead of selling them.

Psychoaoustics (the study of sound perception) has been the basis for the development of Bose audio products right from the start. In 1968, Bose invented the legendary 901 speaker system. A pioneer in the field, these speakers, derived from the Bose 2201 Direct/Reflecting speaker, were an immediate success.
