Casio CT-S300

The Casio CT-S300 is a 61-key arranger keyboard that’s particularly well-suited for beginners and for practicing at home. Its velocity-sensitive keys, automatic accompaniments, and built-in songs provide plenty of material to work with while exploring different styles. Weighing 3.3 kg and featuring a built-in handle, it’s also ideal for those who need to move their keyboard around regularly.

Key Features

• 61 velocity-sensitive keys with 2 sensitivity levels to vary the sound based on how hard you press.
• 400 sounds and 77 rhythms with automatic accompaniment to discover different instruments and play with a rhythm section.
• 60 built-in songs with the option to mute the right-hand part, the left-hand part, or both to practice separately.
• 2 x 2.5 W stereo speakers and a headphone output for playing directly on the keyboard or practicing without disturbing others.
• MIDI-compatible Micro-B USB port for connecting to a computer or mobile device, particularly for using CASIO MUSIC SPACE.
• Weighs 3.3 kg, with a built-in handle and the option to power it with 6 AA batteries for easier playing on the go.

A keyboard suitable for beginners

The 61 keys are touch-sensitive, unlike entry-level keyboards that lack velocity sensitivity. Two sensitivity levels are available, with the option to disable this feature. The built-in metronome and 60 songs allow you to practice directly on the instrument.

However, the CT-S300 remains a 61-key arranger keyboard and not an 88-key digital piano with weighted keys. For learning specifically focused on acoustic piano technique—particularly when the repertoire requires the full range of a piano keyboard—an 88-key weighted-action model will be more appropriate.

400 sounds and 77 accompaniment rhythms

The CT-S300 offers 400 sounds and 77 rhythms with automatic accompaniment. This allows you to play a melody while using an accompaniment that matches the selected style, without needing another musician or software.

Dance Music mode works differently: the keys are used to trigger and combine drum, bass, and synthesizer phrases, as well as effects. The Pitch Bend wheel, meanwhile, provides direct control over the pitch of notes, which is particularly useful with certain guitar, saxophone, or synthesizer sounds.

Headphone Playback and Audio Input

The two built-in 2.5 W speakers allow you to use the CT-S300 without additional speakers. A 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack headphone output is available for quiet practice.

A 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack AUDIO IN input also allows you to connect an external audio source and play along with it. This is a wired connection: the CT-S300 does not support Bluetooth Audio.

USB Connection and CASIO MUSIC SPACE Compatibility

The Micro-B USB port transmits MIDI data and allows you to connect the keyboard to a compatible computer or mobile device. In particular, it can be used with CASIO MUSIC SPACE to display songs and MIDI files as sheet music or piano roll views.

The USB connection should not be confused with a USB audio output. For a smartphone or tablet, the required cable and adapter depend on the device being used and must be purchased separately.

Compact Size and Easy Portability

The CT-S300 measures 93 x 25.6 x 7.3 cm and weighs approximately 3.3 kg without batteries. Its built-in handle makes it easy to move between home, lessons, or various practice locations.

It can be powered by AC or 6 AA batteries. With alkaline batteries, Casio claims approximately 19 hours of operation, though actual battery life may vary depending on usage conditions. This battery-powered option eliminates the need for an AC outlet when using the keyboard on the go.
