Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas PJ V - metallic black

The elegant alder body shape is familiar, straight from the original Charvel San Dimas basses of the late 1970s, with its deeper cutaway that gave adventurous bassists easy access to the treble.

The ultra-thin, bolt-on maple Charvel Speed neck is made in the original style, with a superb caramelized treatment, graphite reinforcement and an adjustment knob at the heel for easy adjustment. The caramelized maple fingerboard, with a compound radius of 30 to 40 cm (12 to 16 inches), flattens progressively from nut to heel for fast, fluid playing. It features rounded edges, 20 jumbo frets and Luminlay® side dots.

The Pro-Mod San Dimas® PJ V bass combines DiMarzio® sonic power (just like our original Charvel basses) with an all-new Charvel five-string pickup: an Area J™ DP551 in the bridge delivers well-balanced punch, while the Charvel 5-string Split-Coil P in the middle offers classic warmth, power and clarity. Versatile electronics include a three-band active EQ, pickup mix control and master volume control with push/pull selector switch. This selector eliminates the risk of sound loss due to a flat battery: a simple press on the volume knob bypasses the active equalizer circuit and recovers the bass sound without using the battery.

A Charvel HiMass™ bridge, Graph Tech® TUSQ® XL nut and open-gear tuning machines deliver exceptional tuning stability, as well as enhanced punch and sustain.

This 5-string, 34-inch scale bass comes in Metallic Black or Platinum Pearl finishes with chrome hardware, black pickup covers and a licensed Fender® Precision Bass® headstock shape.
