Solid body electric bass
A remarkable reworking of Leo Fender's first solid-body electric bass, the DINGWALL SP1 4-String (Gloss Dark Candy Green) beautifully combines a traditional platform with modern features.
The luthiery is based on a lightweight Alder body, a bolt-on neck in solid Maple and a multi-scale (32" > 34.25") Rosewood fingerboard set with Dingwall's trademark 22 fanned frets. The SP1's circuit is passive. The Dingwall Dual-P (neck) and Dingwall FD3n (bridge) pickups - also installed on the Dingwall Custom Shop Super P - and the Quad-Tone pickup selector switch offer four distinct tones: that of each pickup, their combination in series or parallel. The pickguard design is the work of artist Hugh Fisher, digitized then printed using UV technology. Slightly transparent, it reveals the color of the body, which in turn influences that of the pickguard. An absolutely perfect compromise between versatility, ergonomics and elegance.
