In keeping with the DR spirit of using traditional manufacturing techniques to ensure the highest quality, Pure Blues guitar strings are round wound in pure nickel on a round core. Although this method is time consuming and expensive, it produces a string that is acclaimed for its sustain, vintage tone and great bass, both rhythmically and solo. The pure nickel threading gives the Pure Blues an unexpected punch for vintage strings.
