This new pedal is a collaboration between the craftsmen at Earthquaker Devices and Death by Audio.
With the EQD/DBA switch on the left, Time Shadow's controls are entirely the brainchild of EarthQuaker Devices' in-house genius, Jamie Stillman. Flip the switch to the right and you're in the mad head of Oliver Ackermann of Death By Audio. Place the EQD/DBA switch in the middle and enter a whole new realm of pitch-distorted delays for unprecedented sonics.
The three sounds are very different from each other, yet share a harmony perfectly designed to be completely complementary and suitable for all styles and genres of music. The EarthQuaker Devices side turns everything you play into a space jazz bazooka sound! It's a pitch-transforming delay fuzz filter with so much attitude you'll be genuinely intimidated. It takes the input signal, blows it up with the power of digital distortion, mixes it with a polyphonic sub-octave, introduces it into a delay, then spits it out into a low-pass filter controlled by a highly resonant envelope. The Death By Audio side is a multi-delay filter transformer that ranges from icy "shimmer" sounds to cavernous, cosmic spaces with bouncing repeats. The middle position is an energy beam that repeatedly brings your earthly transmissions closer to the heavens, while simultaneously plunging into the depths of the underworld.
