Developed in partnership with the Gibson Custom Shop, the EPIPHONE Inspired By Gibson Custom Collection 1963 Firebird V (EIGC63FB5FRBNM1) solid body electric guitar offers the sound and feel of the original 1963 Gibson Firebird at an affordable price. The Firebird was created by designer Ray Dietrich, inspired by the tailpieces of mid-1950s Cadillacs and Plymouths. It was also the first Gibson to feature a through-neck. Traditional construction with Mahogany body, nine-piece Mahogany/Walnut through-neck (Slim Taper C profile), Laurier fingerboard, Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucking pickup with Alnico 5, CTS potentiometers, Mallory capacitance, Switchcraft connectors, Maestro Vibrola vibrato. The Laurier of which the fingerboard is made is an alternative species to high-quality Rosewood. With its superior density and stability, its acoustic performance is comparable to that of Brazilian rosewood.
