Double neck guitar
Overseen by Gibson, the EPIPHONE Inspired By Gibson Collection EDS-1275 Doubleneck electric guitar (EI1275AWGH1) is a democratic reinterpretation of the original 1962 model. A 6/12-string double neck whose most famous ambassadors are none other than Jimmy Page, Don Felder, Alex Lifeson, John McLaughlin, Steve Miller and Slash History: the Double 12 is the least well-known of the guitars introduced in 1958, the most notable of which are the Explorer and Flying V.
Between 1958 and 1962, the Double 12 was quite different from its current form, with a hollow-body style featuring a Spruce top and Maple body; in 1962 the Double 12 became the EDS-1275 with a solid Mahogany body to match the design of the new SG. It was this revised version that was to become a legendary electric guitar in the hands of Jimmy Page, who used it on the immortal "Stairway to Heaven" but also on "The Song Remains The Same" or "The Rain Song."
