La collaboration entre Joe Bonamassa et Epiphone continue et nous offre encore une reproduction d'une des guitares de l'artiste. Cette fois-ci on a droit à une magnifique copie d'une ES 335 de 62 avec un cordier maestro vibrola et des incrustations en mini blocs sur la touche.

Le prix en fera certes tiquer plus d'un (1300€ pour une Epiphone fabriquée en Chine...) mais si l'on y regarde de plus près, on a quand même:
- une guitare très bien finie
- un étui de très belle qualité siglé Joe Bonamassa
- un certificat et quelques accessoires (sticker, documentation)
- et... cerise sur le gâteau: la guitare est équipée d'origine de micros Gibson et d'une électronique de qualité (potards CTS et capacités Mallory).

Si j'aurais aimé que la guitare soit équipée d'une touche en palissandre, je dois reconnaître que la touche en laurier est de belle qualité et très proche visuellement (et tactilement) du palissandre. Autre particularité de ce modèle qui le distingue des autres 335 fabriquées par Epiphone: le manche est en un seul bloc d'acajou et on a un assemblage de type "long tenon".

Je vais être franc, la seule chose qui m'a ennuyé à l'essai de cette guitare, ce sont les cordes montées d'origine. Je les ai trouvé un peu trop souple. Une fois remplacées par des d'Addario 10/46, j'ai de suite pu retrouver mes repères. Les micros ont un très beau grain, la guitare chante avec un long sustain. La qualité de finition des frettes est irréprochable.

Comparée à mes 335 plus "huppées" (Gibson et Heritage), cette Epiphone s'en sort royalement bien. Elle conviendra aussi bien aux débutants qu'aux joueurs plus chevronnés.
Personnellement, j'adore le look du vibrola. Que ceux qui n'ont pas besoin d'un vibrato sur leur 335 se rassurent, la guitare tient parfaitement l'accord si l'on ne s'en sert pas. Et pour ceux qui veulent ajouter un peu de "vibe" à leurs accords, le vibrola reste d'une tenue d'accord correcte si on le manipule avec tact (c'est clairement pas un Floyd...).

Si vous avez le budget, c'est une très belle réalisation d'Epiphone qui mérite un essai.
