Epiphone Original Riviera - sparkling burgundy top

Discover the Epiphone Original Archtops Collection Riviera, a semi-hollow-body guitar that combines classic design with modern tones—ideal for musicians of all styles.

Overview

The original Epiphone Riviera is an alternative to the famous Gibson ES-335, prized by blues and rock musicians. Produced in the United States from 1962 to 1969, it has been reintroduced several times, notably in the 1980s and as part of the Elitist series in the 2000s. The EPIPHONE Original Archtops Collection Riviera (EORSBUNHR), although a mass-market model, is superbly crafted and shares the tonal character and versatility that made its predecessors so successful.

A robust design for a wide range of tones

This semi-hollow-body electric guitar stands out for its meticulous design, combining premium materials:

• Maple and Poplar body
• Set mahogany neck
• Rosewood fingerboard (24.75" scale, 22 frets)

This configuration gives it great versatility, allowing it to excel in many musical genres, such as blues, pop, jazz, classic rock, and hard rock. The maple center block improves sustain while minimizing the feedback issues common to hollow-body guitars, making this guitar capable of handling high levels of distortion.

Mini Humbucker PRO pickups for a warm tone

The Epiphone Riviera features Mini Humbucker PRO pickups, inspired by 1960s Gibson models, which were also used on the Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. These pickups deliver warm, dynamic tones, providing extra brightness and precision thanks to their narrower magnetic field. You can easily adjust your tone using the volume and tone knobs, which are independent for each pickup.
