Compressor, sustain & noise gate effect pedal
The Supa-Wah takes Fulltone's legendary Clyde Wah to the next level by offering 2 additional modes (in addition to Wacked, Jimi and Shaft): Phat has more grit and is more singing while the Sub mode is deep and incredibly expressive, in addition to working on bass too. The Supa-Wah is designed with 2 matched BC109B transistors, the same ones that were used in the Vox Clyde McCoy of the 60s.
A Level input level control allows the signal to attack the wah circuit cleanly or to saturate it for more bite and harmonics. On the left side is a selector to engage the JFET Buffer/Booster allowing to increase the volume by up to 20dB while interacting better with high-gain amps and providing optimal isolation of the following pedals in the signal chain. Fulltone balancers have a longer travel than others and incorporate nylon pivot points that can be micro-adjusted at will.
Fulltone's custom-made components allow for superior sound quality and better isolation from external noise. Fulltone's MU-80 inductor is hand-built in the USA and designed with the exact same core materials, cables and inductance as Vox wahs from the '60s, and its MuMetal layer rejects unwanted noise. The custom-made FWP-2 potentiometer is high-strength and similar in characteristics to the '60s Icar pots used in vintage Vox wahs, plus its triple-shielded carbon composition track can withstand 500,000 rotations.
The Supa-Wah's 16-gauge cold-rolled steel housing is not only ultra-rugged, but also blocks most external noise from entering. The addition of a grounding strap that connects the bottom plate to the chassis also creates increased noise reduction as well as greater rejection of radio frequencies.
