Gibson Hummingbird Original LH (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - heritage cherry sunburst

The Gibson Hummingbird Left-Handed Model, a legend in the world of steel-string acoustic guitars, is designed to offer left-handed musicians a unique and authentic musical experience.

Overview

Introduced in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird is a timeless steel-string acoustic guitar that has captivated countless iconic artists such as Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, and Eric Clapton. The GIBSON Original Collection Hummingbird Left-Handed (OCSSHBHFHCSL) retains the fundamental characteristics of the original Dreadnought Square Shoulder Hummingbird, while adding Baggs HiFi DNA preamp technology for an enhanced sound experience.

All-solid-wood construction for a powerful, clear sound

The Gibson Hummingbird’s all-solid-wood construction combines traditional woods to create a superior-quality instrument:

• Sitka spruce top
• Mahogany body and neck
• Indian rosewood fingerboard (20 frets)

This combination produces a full, powerful tone with generous bass, pronounced mids, and clear, rich highs. Its natural acoustic volume makes it the perfect choice for singers accompanying themselves on guitar.

An innovative preamp system for an authentic sound

The Hummingbird Original features the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system. This system uses two pickups located under the bridge plate to capture both the vibrations of the strings and those of the soundboard. This produces a more natural and dynamic sound, faithfully reproducing the instrument’s original acoustic character.

Each Baggs HiFi DNA pickup is equipped with its own active preamp, and the volume and tone controls are cleverly positioned on the inner edge of the soundhole.

A versatile electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar for all musicians

The Gibson Hummingbird Original is a must-have, versatile electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar, ideal for a wide range of musicians, regardless of their musical style or technique (fingerpicking, strumming).
