The GIBSON Original Collection Les Paul Special solidbody electric guitar (LPSP00VENH1 ) is a mass-market replica of the eponymous model from the 50's. The Les Paul Special Original features a solid mahogany body, a "Vintage 50's" contoured mahogany neck and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
Its P-90 pickups, one of the best single-coil pickups ever invented, provide a large part of its dynamic temperament. Orange Drop capabilities, Wraparound bridge/cordier.

Une guitare que j’ai beaucoup de plaisir à jouer : j’adore la réactivité des micros très sensibles au touché et au potard de volume ; et le feeling au niveau du GROS profil de manche.

Comme d’habitude chez Gibson, une fois les réglages d’action optimisés, la douceur et la souplesse de jeu sont quasiment inégalables !

Le vernis nitrocellulosique est un peu collant sur le dos du manche. J’ai légèrement poncé pour faciliter la glisse.

C’est ma première guitare avec des P90. En position manche, le son se rapproche plus de celui d’un humbucker pour son côté gras, que d’un single coil.
Mais on peut y remédier en l’éloignant des cordes pour retrouver une attaque qui se rapproche d’un single cool Fender.
Le micros chevalet est juste parfait en crunch et grosse saturation : bien méchant et expressif.

C’est cher (pour une lutherie et finition aussi « simple ») et le manche n’est pas fait pour les amateurs de 60’ slim taper. Mais pour le reste c’est une super gratte !
