Str shape electric guitar
Ibanez has undeniable expertise in the manufacture of affordable, quality instruments, and the IBANEZ GIO GRG121SP BMC solid body electric guitar is the perfect testimony to this.
The combination of Okoume body, bolt-on neck in Maple, Purpleheart fingerboard and humbucking pickups with Ceramic magnets makes for a powerful, generous and articulate sound. Hard Blues, Hard Rock, Metal identity. Used for decades by the maritime and aeronautical industries, Okoume (a native of West Africa) is the wood of choice for electric guitars (John Suhr used it for many years).
This light, low-density wood can be considered a high-quality mahogany, with more pronounced high frequencies and an extended dynamic range, exacerbating the instrument's clarity. The fingerboard is made of Amaranth or Purpleheart. This is a relatively rare, high-quality species from South American forests. Its high density provides extended sustain, excellent dynamics and clarity.
It can be compared to Brazilian rosewood.
