Attractive looks, great playing comfort and sound versatility. Meranti body, poplar burr top, screw-on maple neck, Jatoba fingerboard, 24 frets, Ibanez Quantum single- and double-coil pickups, fixed bridge. Meranti is a widely available, sustainable wood from the forests of Southeast Asia. Its physical and therefore acoustic characteristics are close to those of mahogany. The fingerboard is made of Jatoba (or Brazilian Cherry), a wood whose tonal characteristics are close to those of Pau Ferro. Both warm and punchy.
