The Kodamo EssenceFM MKII is a digital desktop/rack synthesizer that combines FM, subtractive synthesis and resonant multi-mode filters. The luxurious architecture offers 300 voices that can be applied to 16 parts/tracks. Using the EssenceFM MKII as a drum synthesizer is therefore an obvious and interesting task for the instrument. By overlaying individual FM structures with 6 operators, it is possible to achieve highly complex sounds with up to 12, 18, 24 or more operators! Yamaha DX-7 synthesizer patches can also be imported. If you like FM sounds but a DX-7 is a seven-seal book, this desktop synthesizer from Kodamo is recommended, as the large 7" touchscreen immediately reconciles with extended synthesis.

New in the MKII version
The number of editable waveforms has been doubled from 24 to 48. Instead of the low-pass filter per voice, there is now an equally resonant multi-mode filter that covers low-pass, band-pass and high-pass. Externally, there has been an update: the front panel has become slightly thicker, but the fixed rack ears have given way. They have been replaced by easy-to-mount side panels, which at the same time slightly tilt the control panel. In addition, the rack ears can now be mounted as required. The signal converters have also been optimised, the level of the analogue outputs is now higher. To demonstrate the possibilities of the new filters and waveforms, the MKII comes with the pre-installed Pulsophonic "Back to the FM Vol.1" sound bank.

Touchscreen
The large 7" touchscreen is the central control element next to the large encoder: waveforms and envelopes can be drawn by hand if required, FM patterns can be adjusted at will and parameters can be set in an instant. Effects, tone scales, part assignment, preset management, Arpeggiator or modulation matrix; all this and more can be easily accessed and edited using the touchscreen.
