Left-handed folk guitar
The LAG Tramontane TL88ACE left-handed steel-string acoustic guitar is an Auditorium cutaway with Khaya 2* back and sides (laminate), Brownwood 3* fingerboard, solid Engelmann 1* spruce top, DirectLag Plus preamp and, for the price quoted on the label, a level of craftsmanship and cosmetics that really sets it apart from the rest.
*1 Englemann is a high-quality light spruce with excellent projection, particularly warm bass and a more open sound than Sitka spruce. 2* Khaya is a noble African mahogany with a wide frequency response.
3* Brownwood is an ideal substitute for Rosewood, derived from short-cycle pines from New Zealand. The wood is first dried to bring its moisture content down to 10%, then impregnated with catalysts and pigments in pressurized vats. A second drying phase brings its moisture content down to 2 or 3%, before a second pressurized impregnation, this time with resin.
The 3rd phase consists in compressing the material to lose up to 40% of its mass and densify it.
Last phase: fine sanding for perfect appearance and contact.
