Solid body electric bass

With a level of performance worthy of the best American basses, the solidbody MARCUS MILLER V7 Vintage Alder 4-String 2nd Generation electric bass (MN, TS, without gig bag) is unquestionably one of the best iterations of the Fender Jazz Bass on the market, in a vintage '70s spirit (asymmetrical body in American Alder, bolt-on neck in Maple, 34" scale).
Designed by the great Marcus Miller himself, it's both extremely comfortable and extremely versatile, thanks to the combination of pickups with Alnico V magnets and active 18v or passive electronics (via mini-switch) that provide a huge catalog of vintage or more contemporary tones, but expressive and generous in all circumstances.

Leaving aside the vintage-look bridge, the V7 Vintage differs from the V7 "Standard" in that its pickup set has been redesigned (the bridge pickup has been repositioned closer to the bridge for a taut, dynamic sound.
This evolution released in 2018 sees the introduction of Vintage-J Revolution pickups (new magnets and winding procedure) with a hyper-realistic vintage temperament, and rounded neck edges for optimum comfort.

Produced in Indonesia, sold in a Sire gig bag, in several variants (4 & 5 strings, left-handed, fretless).

Der Bass V7 Vintage 4 hat ein Gewicht von ca. 4,2 kg. Die Bundbearbeitung ist sehr gut und ermöglicht eine niedrige Saitenlage. Die Nut an der E und G Saite musste ein wenig abgeschliffen werden. Die Tuner sind auch sehr gut und halten die Tonstimmung sehr gut. Großer Kritikpunkt sind allerdings die Potentiometer und die Potiknöpfe. Sie sind von niedriger Qualität und vor allem die Doppelpotis haben ein Spiel von 2 Millimeter. Auch ist der Rastpunkt in Mittelstellung unterschiedlich. Hier ist noch Potential zur Verbesserung. Die Klangvielfalt ist sehr gut. Man erhält 3 verschiedene Sounds, die sich sehr gut trennen, im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Bässen. Precision, Jazzbass und "Marcus Miller" Klang. Da ich wohl den letzten verfügbaren Bass gekauft habe , werde ich ihn auch behalten und bei Gelegenheit die Potentiometer tauschen.
Le Bass V7 Vintage 4 pèse environ 4,2 kg. Le frettage est très bon et permet une action des cordes basse. La rainure sur les cordes E et G a dû être légèrement poncée. Les accordeurs sont également très bons et maintiennent très bien le ton. Cependant, les potentiomètres et les boutons de potentiomètre constituent un point de critique majeur. Ils sont de mauvaise qualité et surtout les doubles potentiomètres ont un jeu de 2 millimètres. Le point de verrouillage en position médiane est également différent. Il y a encore du potentiel d’amélioration ici. La variété des sons est très bonne. Vous obtenez 3 sons différents qui sont très bien séparés, contrairement à beaucoup d'autres basses. Précision, Jazzbass et son "Marcus Miller". Comme j'ai probablement acheté la dernière basse disponible, je la garderai et remplacerai les potentiomètres quand j'en aurai l'occasion.
