Solid body electric bass
Revised version of the original Stingray with sculpted body profile for greater comfort, lighter tuning machines, neodymium magnet pickups and 18v pre-amplification for greater amplitude. Ash body, bolt-on neck (34" scale), Maple, Rosewood or Ebony fingerboard (depending on color), active 3-band bass/mid/treble EQ.
The MUSIC MAN Stingray Special H 4-String solidbody electric bass (107-F71-50-01 ) combines tradition and modernity to perfection. A must-have since its introduction in 1976, the MUSIC MAN Stingray is a remarkable reinterpretation of a benchmark American model, enhanced by active electronics.
In the early '70s, Forrest White and Tom Walker left Fender-CBS to launch their own company, which officially became Music Man in 1974. Leo Fender in turn left Fender and joined them as president in 1975. Designed by Leo Fender, Tom Walker and Sterling Ball in Fullerton, California, the StingRay was then considered an innovative bass, and in a flash became very popular with the world's most renowned bassists.
