Mic transducer
Neumann's electrostatic microphone capsules for wireless systems represent the pinnacle of studio-quality sound on stage, combining the freedom and flexibility of wireless operation.
Overview
The KK 104 A and KK 105 A microphone capsules are the successors to the renowned KK 204 and KK 205 models, offering a combination of iconic electret technology and modern design. Compatible with Sennheiser wireless systems, they guarantee unmatched sound quality.
Studio-quality sound for optimal wireless performance
These high-end microphone heads use the same capsule technology as Neumann’s famous wired stage microphones from the KMS series. Thanks to their electret design, they offer unmatched transparency and detail, significantly outperforming conventional dynamic microphones.
- Neumann’s signature transparent electrostatic sound
- Excellent protection against plosive sounds
- Enhanced resistance to handling noise
- Exceptional SPL handling
- Remarkable feedback resistance
- Robust construction for professional on-stage performance
Compared to dynamic models, the KK 104 A and KK 105 A feature a more consistent frequency response, superior transient response, and an airy high-frequency reproduction, delivering more direct and intelligible vocal performance.
Design optimized for close-miking
The microphone heads feature a fixed low-cut filter, perfect for compensating for the proximity effect. The hardened steel grille, equipped with an integrated pop filter, protects the capsule and effectively controls plosives and sibilants.
Polar Patterns and Applications for Exceptional Performance
The KK 104 A, with its narrow cardioid polar pattern, offers high resistance to feedback and an open sound character, ideal for dynamic vocal performances. In contrast, the KK 105 A features a supercardioid polar pattern, providing better rejection of unwanted sounds and enhanced instrument separation—perfect for demanding environments.
These microphone capsules are perfectly suited for vocals and speech in feedback-prone environments, working effectively with both in-ear monitoring systems and traditional monitor setups.
