Nux Axon 3 - one pair

The NUX AXON 3 is a two-channel, powered stereo monitoring system designed for music production and desktop audio editing. Its compact size and USB, analog, and Bluetooth connections allow it to be integrated into a computer setup or used with various audio sources.

Speakers and Amplification

Each speaker combines a 3-inch neodymium magnet woofer with a 3/4-inch silk dome tweeter. Four Class D amplifiers power the system: each channel delivers 30 W for bass and 15 W for treble, for a total of 45 W per speaker.

The bass-reflex design delivers a specified frequency response of 55 Hz to 20 kHz at -3 dB. This range does not cover the entire sub-bass spectrum: for rich reproduction of very low frequencies, consider adding a separate subwoofer.

Settings with Axon Studio

The built-in DSP includes an equalizer that can be controlled via Axon Studio, available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. You can adjust the tonal balance—for example, to attenuate a bass range that is too prominent in your setup.

These settings complement speaker placement and room acoustic treatment. They do not, on their own, constitute automatic calibration via a microphone.

Digital and Analog Connections

The USB port allows you to receive audio directly from a computer, with 24-bit, 48 kHz digital-to-analog conversion. The built-in Bluetooth is used to stream audio from a compatible device, particularly for listening to reference tracks.

The two 6.35 mm TS jack inputs, the two RCA inputs, and the 3.5 mm stereo auxiliary input accept line-level analog sources using the appropriate cables. The TS and RCA connections are unbalanced. A turntable requires a line output or a compatible phono preamplifier.

Setup and Accessories

Set up the speakers vertically on a stable surface. The magnetic feet allow you to choose an angle of +9° or -5°. The 3/8-inch female threaded mount also allows for mounting on a stand compatible with this thread size and the speaker’s weight.

The included accessories listed in the manual consist of the power supply, the four-pin interconnect cable between the speakers, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and two magnetic feet.
