Reverb, delay & echo effect pedal
The Bathing is a multi-functional pedal featuring what the brand calls "Liminal Delay". This effect is neither a classic delay, nor a modulation, nor even a multi-tap reverb. It combines all these elements. Inspired by the "phase repetition" of OBNE's Dweller pedal, Bathing exploits this hard-to-describe effect and brings out all its magic with a wide range of controls, low noise and a vast stereo image. With features like MIDI, expression control and presets to save and recall your favorite Liminal Delay sounds, Bathing invites you on a sonic journey.
Bathing's basic sound is determined by a central delay line, divided into several stages known as all-pass filters. The Time control sets the duration of the central delay.
Use the Stages control to define the number of all-pass stages through which the delay passes, from two to twelve. Short durations increase the intensity of the phase/flanger effect. Medium and long durations create more repeats before and after the center delay time.
The "Feedback" parameter controls the feedback of the delay, feeding the output signal back into the input. This extends signal duration and amplifies resonance. The "Filter" parameter applies a combination of low-pass and high-pass filtering to the delay output, as well as to the feedback loop, with the darkest sound on the left and the brightest on the right.
The low-frequency oscillator (LFO) influences the character of the delay repeats. When the duration is very short, it acts as a modulation effect (like a phaser or flanger). When the duration is longer, the signal can vary from a single repetition at the center delay duration to a scattering of many diffuse repetitions around this duration. In Mono-in, Stereo-out or Stereo modes, the LFO is shifted left and right to create various stereo effects.
