Since 2005, the best-selling PST5 series has been the entry into the world of bronze cymbals. Even then, these cymbals were impressive with their clear, focused and energetic sound in all conceivable musical styles. The material CuSN8, also known as "2002 bronze", was used for the first time in this legendary cymbal series.
Taking into account current musical trends, the line was freshly revised in 2014 by the Paiste sound development team. Only a few visual details were deliberately changed, but the sound characteristics were fundamentally renewed. Above all, the cymbals have become much thinner and lighter. On the one hand, this gives them a much deeper, warmer sound, while maintaining a bright and clear basic character. On the other hand, the material is now much more flexible, which results in a noticeably more pleasant playing feel.
All in all, the new PST5s are simply more musical.
