The PRS John Mayer SE Silver Sky Rosewood Lefty (RW, Laurel Green) is the result of a close collaboration between the virtuoso bluesman and Paul Reed Smith.
It's a high-quality instrument, strongly inspired by the musician's personal favorite vintage guitars. Every detail has been optimized to create the ideal single-coil pickup guitar, and virtually every element has been customized for John Mayer, including the full-bodied, rich-sounding and highly musical pickups, especially at high frequencies. The body is made of Poplar, a wood species considered an alternative to Alder. Widely available and inexpensive, Poplar is therefore often used to build entry-level and mid-range instruments.
