The SQUIER Paranormal Jazzmaster XII (0377050502) solid body electric guitar is a sympathetic mainstream reinterpretation of the famous Fender Electric XII originally produced from 1965 to 1970. The body is made of Poplar, a wood species considered an alternative to Alder. Widely available and inexpensive, Poplar is therefore often used to make entry-level instruments. The fingerboard is made of Laurier, a wood species considered an alternative to Rosewood of excellent quality. With superior density and stability, its acoustic performance is comparable to that of Brazilian Rosewood.
