Dual mic preamplifier: SuperAnalogue™ or VHD™

The Super 9000 offers two high-quality preamps. SuperAnalogue™ mode offers exceptional purity and dynamic reserve. The VHD™ (Variable Harmonic Drive) mode, meanwhile, adds warmth or saturation according to your needs: 2nd-order harmonics for warm, tube-like coloration, or 3rd-order harmonics for a more incisive character.

With the INPUT FLIP function, you can move the VHD circuit from mic input to line input, ideal for coloring your DAW stems or line-level instruments.

Variable Harmonic Drive (VHD)

VHD technology has become the secret tool of many engineers. Designed to complement the ultra-precise SuperAnalogue™ preamp, it expands the tonal palette and adds character to your recordings. Featured on many consoles and SSL units, it remains a benchmark for harmonic saturation.

The Super 9000 features SSL's emblematic modern dynamics section with :

• VCA THAT 2181A-based compressor
• Fast Attack and Peak Detect modes
• Classic SSL Expander/Gate with variable hysteresis and HOLD control
• Flexible placement before or after equalizer

This flexibility allows precise control and dynamics for all types of production.

EQ circuits and filters

The Super 9000 features SSL Pink (292) and Black (242) EQ circuits, complemented by high-pass and low-pass filters. An ideal combination for sculpting your mixes with precision.

Flexible processing and routing

The channel strip features a symmetrical insert point, repositionable after the output stage for perfect integration of external equipment. With a dedicated external sidechain input and the ability to link two units in stereo, the Super 9000 offers routing adapted to modern studios.

Thanks to the Input Flip function, you can easily process line-level DAW returns with saturation/distortion, without additional manual patching.
