If you love the naturally compressed tones characteristic of the VOX Top Boost amps that are the voice of the mythical history of the British Invasion, the TUBESTEADER ROY Tube Overdrive Preamp pedal just might make your heart beat faster. ROY is a high-end tube overdrive, equipped with a 12AX7, made in Canada. The high voltage of its circuit (260VDC) allows it to authentically capture the grain typical of vintage British tube amps from the 1960s. You have two separate identical circuits, with gain and volume, for maximum channel management flexibility. The Tone Cut parameter acts after the main EQ circuit, subtly attenuating treble for a smoother sound. The ROY can be connected to the input of your amp, or to the return of its effects loop, to attack the power stage directly. Combined with other overdrives, it can give excellent results.
