Featuring an EL34-based all-tube circuit (switchable to 6L6), the VICTORY AMPS Peter 'Danish Pete' Honoré DP40 The Duchess electric guitar head is a customized version of the original Dutchess. It's a compact, lightweight, single-channel amp that's surprisingly versatile, thanks to its four power options (0.5/1.5/7/42-watts), and its various voicing filters (warm American-style '60s, or snarlier British-style) that allow it to be adapted to many situations. Warm and responsive, the DP40 excels on clean and moderately saturated tones, and will appeal in particular to guitarists who like the simplicity of vintage amplifiers.
Push the volume control beyond half and you'll get dreamy Blues leads. Conversely, to generate crystal-clear tones, turn down the volume and increase the master volume to raise the level of the power stage without distortion. The 'Mid Kick' circuit will allow you to densify the midrange. The DP40 is the ideal platform for pedalboard owners. Set your basic sound on the amp, and add color and atmosphere with your various pedals for saturation, modulation etc. You also have an effects loop to optimize the potential of the delay and reverb pedals. The DP40 features a studio-grade reverb significantly different from that of the original V40, with extended decay and extra brilliance.
