The YAMAHA NX Series NCX3 electro classical guitar is a remarkably well-machined instrument designed for electric and folk guitarists who want a functional, pleasing nylon string. Both in terms of all-solid-wood construction (hand-picked Sitka Spruce top / Walnut body / Ebony fingerboard - custom bracing to accentuate low frequencies while respecting the tonal characteristics of the woods), and its dedicated Atmosfeel dual pre-amp, this NX proves impressive.
The Atmosfeel system consists of individual piezo sensors under the nut for each string, which pick up only the mid and low-mid frequencies (to suppress the exacerbated natural brilliance of the piezos), mixable with a specific sensor that handles the high frequencies, and a microphone in charge of resonance.
