2.4 GHz wireless connection for streaming and gaming

The ATH-M50xSTS-WL uses 2.4 GHz digital transmission designed to minimize latency between audio and video. This technology makes it easier to track audio cues during your gaming sessions, live streams, and voice communications. Audio-Technica also promises an interference-resistant connection with a range of up to 10 meters in open space.

The included USB-A transceiver plugs directly into a compatible computer or gaming console. The Plug & Play connection simplifies setup without the need for an external audio interface. Controls on the ear cups allow you to adjust the volume and microphone noise reduction, among other settings.

Sound Quality and Noise Isolation

The StreamSet features the same 45-mm dynamic drivers as the ATH-M50x, equipped with rare-earth magnets and copper-plated aluminum voice coils. With a claimed frequency response of 20 to 22,000 Hz, Audio-Technica highlights detailed sound reproduction and deep, precise bass. This allows you to clearly follow dialogue, sound effects, and the various audio elements in your content.

Its closed-back, over-ear design surrounds the ears and passively blocks out external noise. It also helps reduce sound leakage that could be picked up by the microphone, especially when you’re streaming content at high volumes.

Cardioid Microphone with Adaptive Noise Reduction

Inspired by the professional microphones in the 20 Series, the cardioid condenser microphone prioritizes capturing sounds coming from the front of its capsule. Its flexible boom allows you to position it close to your mouth to enhance the clarity of your voice and minimize ambient noise. To mute the microphone during a live stream, simply lift the arm.

The adaptive noise-reduction system analyzes the microphone signal to attenuate certain unwanted sounds, such as computer fans and air conditioning. Two levels of noise reduction are available, with the option to disable the feature directly from the headset. This noise reduction applies only to the voice picked up by the microphone and not to sounds heard through the headset: it is not active noise cancellation (ANC) for listening.

Sidetone Voice Feedback to Monitor Your Voice

The Sidetone feature lets you hear your own voice through the headset while you’re speaking. This voice feedback helps you naturally adjust your speaking volume without having to remove an earcup. It’s particularly useful during streams, podcasts, and online conversations, when the headset’s sound isolation makes your voice less audible.

Two sets of ear pads to suit your needs

The ATH-M50xSTS-WL comes with two pairs of interchangeable ear pads. The breathable mesh and faux leather ear pads, which come pre-installed, promote airflow for long streaming or gaming sessions. The standard ATH-M50x ear pads, on the other hand, enhance passive isolation and sound reproduction, according to the manufacturer.

The adjustable headband lets you customize the fit to your head shape, while its foldable design makes it easy to store and transport. It weighs approximately 365 g, without the cable.

Battery Life and Wired USB Use

The built-in lithium-ion battery offers up to 24 hours of continuous use, depending on usage conditions. A full charge takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes. This battery life allows you to go through several sessions without having to constantly recharge the headphones.

To continue streaming or gaming when the battery is low, the StreamSet can operate in USB wired audio mode while charging. The included 2-meter USB-C to USB-A cable provides this connection and powers the headset.

The headset also comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter, allowing you to connect the transceiver to a compatible USB-C port. This gives you the accessories you need to use both connection modes with supported devices.
