Australian brand Bondi Effects took on the challenge of combining two legendary overdrive circuits in a compact package. The pedal offers classic Drive and Output settings, complemented by two-band active EQ, Bass and Treble. These settings allow you to cut or boost +/-15dB for maximum versatility. As on a famous gold (or silver) pedal, the internal voltage is boosted to 24 volts for an impressive headroom and dynamics rivaling a tube amp. A small two-position switch allows you to switch between two different characters, including one that makes the Del Mar MK2 sound like a “BluesBreaker” style pedal. This switch also affects the perceived volume.
For this MK2 version, Bondi Effects used their most robust power supply, which generates a much more efficient signal-to-noise ratio than the MK1 version. The True Bypass switch is now silent. You can use the pedal as a Clean Boost, an overdrive, or a combination of both. Its unique sound, at the crossroads of several styles of overdrives, will not fail to seduce you.
