Folk guitar
Unique copy bearing the serial number 32397.
This splendid COLLINGS OM2H Custom #32397 is an Orchestra Model-style steel-string acoustic guitar, featuring impressive all-solid-wood construction (torrefied Sitka spruce top, Wenge back/sides, Ebony fingerboard), custom "3/4" neck options (4.45 cm neck/fret width), Dalmatian pickguard, and satin nitrocellulose neck finish.
The market is flooded with OM models, but Collings crushes most of its competitors with outstanding acoustic quality and craftsmanship. Originally from East Africa (Cameroon, Congo), Wenge offers more than superb grain and a lovely chocolate hue. The best luthiers compare it to Brazilian rosewood. High-protection Collings case included. Eight decades after its introduction, the "OM Orchestra Model 14-Frets" design remains a favorite among Finger-Pickers.
However, it's also a favorite with flat-pickers for its ergonomic design (compact body, approx. 10 cm thickness), fine frequency balance and immediate response. There's a plethora of OM models on offer, but Collings clearly stands out from the crowd thanks to their uncompromising dedication and exceptional craftsmanship. Their guitars are masterpieces of lutherie and acoustics that magnify traditional references.
