Portable digital piano

The Dexibell VIVO H10MG is a mini-grand digital piano designed for experienced pianists looking for a stationary instrument with a hammer-action keyboard and a sophisticated built-in sound system. Its main appeal lies in the combination of the TP-400 W hybrid keyboard, the T2L sound engine, and a genuine soundboard made of Val di Fiemme spruce. It is particularly well-suited for demanding practice at home, in a studio, or in a space where the piano is an integral part of the setup.

Key Features

  • TP-400 W hybrid keyboard with 88 weighted keys, triple contact, and escapement, ideal for working on repetition and nuance.
  • T2L engine combining sampling and modeling, with resonance control and 32-bit floating-point internal processing.
  • Polypphony advertised as unlimited with 320 oscillators, useful for dense passages, layering, and sustained pedal use.
  • A system of 15 speakers and four amplifiers, combined with a spruce soundboard that directly contributes to sound projection within the cabinet.
  • 125 built-in sounds, including three PLATINUM sounds, with the ability to load Dexibell sounds or SF2 SoundFont files.
  • Two headphone outputs, line outputs, USB audio/MIDI, and Bluetooth audio reception to integrate the piano into various work environments.

A keyboard designed for advanced playing

The VIVO H10MG features an 88-key TP-400 W hybrid wood keyboard with hammer action, triple contact, and escapement simulation. Triple contact is particularly useful for experienced pianists during fast-paced practice sessions, as a new note can be detected without the key needing to return fully.

The keyboard sensitivity offers seven curves as well as a fixed setting. This allows you to tailor the dynamic response to your playing style or the repertoire you’re working on.

However, the H10MG remains a digital piano equipped with a hybrid keyboard and not a full acoustic grand piano action. If the exact mechanical behavior of an acoustic action is your primary criterion, testing the keyboard in person is highly recommended.

How are the piano’s nuances and resonances reproduced?

The T2L engine combines sampling and modeling. The piano sounds use samples lasting up to 15 seconds for the low notes, recorded at 24-bit/48 kHz, while modeling is used in particular to simulate the behavior of resonances and interactions between notes.

The system supports sympathetic resonances as well as those associated with the forte pedal. The three pedals include a progressive forte pedal, a progressive soft pedal, and a sostenuto pedal, with certain assignable functions.

Dexibell specifies the polyphony as unlimited with 320 oscillators. This architecture is well-suited for complex chords, long pedal resonances, and layering modes without imposing the more common polyphony limits found on some digital pianos.

How does the H10MG’s soundboard make a difference?

The H10MG does not rely solely on speakers housed within the cabinet. It features a soundboard made of Val di Fiemme spruce, onto which four speakers are mounted to transmit vibrations to the piano’s structure.

The system features 15 speakers divided into bass, full-range, mid-treble, and six near-field speakers, powered by four amplifiers for a maximum rated power of 112 W. This configuration is designed to reproduce the various components of the sound—including bass, resonances, and certain mechanical details—separately, rather than concentrating them in a single pair of speakers.

Can the sounds be customized?

The VIVO H10MG offers 125 factory sounds, including three PLATINUM sounds. The Layer, Split, Layer + Split, four-hand, and three-part layering modes allow you to create configurations that go beyond simple solo piano use.

Its 3.2 GB wave memory can be expanded with Dexibell sounds and SoundFont SF2 files. Files can be loaded from a USB drive, allowing you to expand the sound bank without replacing the instrument.

How can you integrate it into a studio or work with headphones?

Two headphone jacks are available: one 6.35 mm jack and one 3.5 mm mini-jack. This lets you practice quietly or connect two pairs of headphones without immediately needing an external headphone amplifier.

The L/Mono and R line outputs allow you to connect to an audio interface, a mixing console, or an external sound system. The USB port to the computer transmits MIDI as well as digital audio input and output, making it easy to use the H10MG with compatible recording software or virtual instruments.

Bluetooth supports audio reception as well as BLE 4.2 MIDI communication. Bluetooth Audio is therefore used to send music from a compatible device to the piano, not to wirelessly transmit sound from the H10MG to Bluetooth headphones.

A Piano Designed for Permanent Installation

Measuring approximately 144.4 cm wide, 86.6 cm deep, and weighing 87.8 kg, the VIVO H10MG should be considered a permanent installation rather than a piano intended to be moved regularly. Its mini-grand format also requires more depth than a traditional freestanding digital piano.

For an experienced pianist who prefers a home instrument, an advanced keyboard, and a built-in sound system that works with a real soundboard, this design makes sense. For concerts requiring frequent transport or for a room where space is a critical factor, a stage model or a more compact freestanding piano will be more practical.
