Overdrive, distortion & fuzz effect pedal
The Zoar is an ultra-interactive medium-to-high-gain transistor distortion with the much sought-after touch-sensitive quality typical of amplifiers. It's been specially calibrated to generate a modern, hi-fi distortion that's super versatile, yet inspired by vintage circuitry to give an instantly recognizable yet unique biting sound, offering brilliant drive through to a moderate fuzz perfect for drop guitars or basses.
The character of the distortion depends on the Weight setting as well as the type of pickups, and is further defined with the EQ section. 3-band EQ and Gain settings offer almost infinite possibilities with great precision and sensitivity, but the Weight setting is the Zoar's focal point. It defines the amount of bass that passes through the circuit, controlling the entire character of the pedal. Whether you want a light, clear boost, high-gain distortion, overdrive or hi-fi fuzz, this setting gives you it all! The Level setting depends on the position of the other settings. As well as controlling output volume, it also impacts the Zoar's sound. By adjusting the Level setting with any combination of equalization (increasing the frequency bands and reducing the output volume), you can obtain radically different curves as with a low-pass filter. The Zoar can be powered from 9 to 18 Volts DC. At 18 volts, clean tones are wider, saturated tones more punchy and articulate, bass tighter, treble more extended, and volume is practically doubled!
