The LIMELIGHT V2 is a pedal from Electronic Audio Experiments. The EAE Limelight adopts the generous dual footswitch format that has made classics such as the Longsword and Dude Incredible so successful. This time, it features an overdrive inspired by the famous Bluesbreaker, pioneer of modern amp-in-a-boxes and model for the Analog Man King Of Tone and JHS Morning Glory. However, the EAE Limelight doesn't just "clone" the Marshall of the '90s; it offers clearer articulation and a considerably extended gain range. To achieve this, the controls are ingeniously designed: the gain control simultaneously adjusts the levels of both gain stages, gradually increasing the midrange as it is increased. The tone control cuts high frequencies, while Focus attenuates excessive bass. These features enable a wide range of tones, often very close to those of a real amp. To complete these characteristics, the right-hand footswitch activates an adjustable boost via its own potentiometer. Although designed for a post-hardcore band, the EAE Limelight also stands out in genres such as blues, classic rock and neo-soul. Its versatile capabilities offer a tailor-made sound palette for a variety of musical styles.
