Folk guitar
TheEPIPHONE Hummingbird Studio (EEHBFCNH1) is a worthy descendant of the 1960 Gibson Square Shoulder Hummingbird, which quickly became a folk guitar classic, thanks in particular to Keith "The Rolling Stones" Richards, with whom he recorded "Satisfaction", "Play With Fire" and "Under My Thumb".
This is a Dreadnought-style electro-acoustic folk guitar with a solid spruce top and mahogany (laminated) body.
Spruce has a rich, complex sound that improves with age. It combines perfectly with mahogany.
The 25.5" maple neck has a pleasant SlimTaper "D" profile, and is connected to the body using the age-old "Dovetail Joint" technique.
The fingerboard is Pau Ferro, radiused to 12", set with 22 medium frets, with a nut width of 1.68" - 4.27 cm.
The Shadow NanoFlex under-saddle piezo pickup was developed and tuned specifically for the Spruce/Mahogany combination.
Fishman Sonitone Soundhole mounted Volume and Tone preamp.
The Pau Ferro wood used for the fingerboard comes from the forests of Brazil and Bolivia. Its high density generates a hybrid sound between rosewood and maple. Its pleasant touch is unmistakably reminiscent of Ebony.
