Elaborated from a "1963 Telecaster Base Model" die, the FENDER Custom Shop 1963 Telecaster Heavy Relic Sparkle 3-Color Sunburst solid body electric guitar #R141275 (9238014417) is the reinterpretation of a characteristic Telecaster of the mid-1960s. It ideally combines a majority of vintage features with more contemporary ones.

Solid body electric guitar, two-piece Ash body, torrefied rift-sawn Maple neck (60's Oval C profile), Rosewood fingerboard (6105 narrow-tall frets, 9.5" radius), hand-wound Tomatillo pickups with four-position "Modern" pickup selector switch, nitrocellulose finish for an authentic vintage look.

In addition to giving the wood an attractive patina, the roasted process improves tuning stability, sustain, clarity and resonance. Sold with Fender Custom Shop hardshell case and certificate of authenticity. Fender Telecasters and Stratocasters are timeless, referential. They are an integral part of the history of amplified music, having contributed amply to its expansion and democratization. The ideal would be to be the proud owner of an original example from the 50s or 60s, but the price of vintage examples is so high that it is difficult for anyone to gain access to them. Concerning the Relic finish: the dealers present at NAMM 1995 were totally blown away by the level of realism of the first two Relic models that Fender presented to them that year. Most mistook them for genuine Fender originals (a '51 Nocaster and a '56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster).
