Fender Custom Shop 1968 Telecaster #R123298 - relic aged natural

Based on a "1967 Telecaster Base Model" die, the FENDER Custom Shop 1968 Telecaster Relic Aged Natural solid body electric guitar #R123298 (9238013884) is a reinterpretation of a characteristic Fender guitar from the late 1960s. It ideally combines a majority of vintage features with more contemporary ones.

Solid body electric guitar, selected two-piece alder body, plain grain maple neck (60's Oval C profile), plain grain maple fingerboard (radius 9.5", narrow-tall frets), duo of '67 Telecaster pickups, nitrocellulose finish for an authentic vintage look. Sold with Fender Custom Shop case and certificate of authenticity. Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster guitars are timeless, referential. They are an integral part of the history of amplified music, having contributed amply to its expansion and democratization. The ideal would be to be the proud owner of an original example from the 50s or 60s, but the price of vintage examples is so high that it is difficult for anyone to gain access to them. Concerning the Relic finish: the dealers present at NAMM 1995 were totally blown away by the level of realism of the first two Relic models that Fender presented to them that year. Most mistook them for genuine Fender originals (a '51 Nocaster and a '56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster).
The Fender "relicing" process has now become a way of life, and is the mainstay of Custom Shop sales.
