The FENDER Custom Shop Custom Deluxe HB S-1 Stratocaster (9231016434) is an exceptional version of the Standard Stratocaster in its contemporary iteration (HSS pickup configuration with S-1 circuitry, 22 frets, 9.5" modern radius, 2-point vibrato).
A prestigious instrument designed for musicians seeking a guitar that is traditional, versatile, and 100% reliable.

In terms of craftsmanship, this is pure Custom Shop quality with hand-selected woods: a two-piece alder body, a quarter-sawn maple neck, a 3A rosewood fingerboard (1965 C profile, 9.5" radius, narrow-tall frets), and a nitrocellulose finish. It’s a tried-and-true traditional design, crafted by highly experienced luthiers.

The pickup set consists of two hand-wound Fender Custom Shop '69 single-coil pickups and one Seymour Duncan® JB™ SH-4 humbucking pickup. A high-quality combination that sounds great whether clean or distorted, covering everything from blues to hard rock and everything in between.
The S-1 circuit, activated via the push/pull knob on one of the tone controls, allows for a wide range of coil configurations.
