The Clapton Stratocaster was the first Artist Signature model to leave the Fender workshops in 1985. At the English god's request, it's a reproduction of his legendary Blackie (which he used intensely, if not exclusively, from 1973 to 1985), enhanced by more contemporary electronics. For the record, Clapton himself built his favourite Strato from three vintage Stratocasters (from '56 & '57), and this is the Custom Shop version, enhanced by a selection of higher-grade essences. Connoisseurs will undoubtedly hear the extra depth and expressiveness this guitar can offer. The Clapton Strat's singular strength lies in its +25db midrange booster, making it a highly versatile guitar. Pushed to its limits, the booster transforms Vintage Noiseless Single-Coils into true Humbuckers.
