Imagined and built from the ground up by master builder Paul Waller, the FENDER Custom Shop MBPW Joe Strummer Telecaster solid body electric guitar (9217000648) is a meticulous recreation of the original Telecaster by the legendary guitarist of The Clash and The Mescaleros. A 1966 model which he used extensively on stage and in the studio.
It features a two-piece Alder body, a solid Maple neck with 1960 Oval C profile, a Rosewood fingerboard (Vintage Jescar 45085 frets, 7.25" radius), and a set of Telecaster '67 pickups hand-wound by Josefina Campos.

Sold with Fender Custom Shop hardshell case with certificate of authenticity. Paul Waller is a native of Southern California. He built his first guitar at the age of 14 and joined a lutherie workshop immediately after high school. He was accepted into the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, graduating in 2000, and joined Fender in 2003. He spends two years studying with Bob Benedetto, learning the techniques of Master Builders. After seven years of hard work, he became a Master Builder himself in 2010, and his prestigious collaborations and creations include names such as Adam Clayton, Bono, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Buddy Guy, Nile "Hitmaker" Rodgers and Troy Van Leeuwen.
