Solid body electric bass
James Jamerson (1936 - 1983) is considered one of the most influential bassists in the development of modern music, having stamped his timeless groove on a significant number of hits of the Mowtown label. He was an undeniable mentor to such legendary artists as Paul McCartney, Marcus Miller, John Entwistle and Geddy Lee.
Although he was not honored as he should have been during his lifetime, he was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
The FENDER Artist Signature USA James Jamerson 1962 Precision Bass, Rosewood Fingerboard, 3-Tone Sunburst (0192720800) is a reproduction of the original vintage instrument the artist used throughout his career.
It has exactly the same characteristics (Alder body, bolt-on neck in Maple - James Jamerson 1962 C profile -, Rosewood fingerboard), and faithfully reproduces its vintage sounds, thanks in particular to the Custom-Voiced James Jamerson '62 Precision Bass pickup.
The Heirloom Nitrocellulose finish completes the final result, offering a perfectly authentic visual.
If you're looking for the Mowtown Sound and, more generally, high-quality old-school tones, the Fender James Jamerson '62 Precision Bass should appeal to you. Sold with Vintage-Style Brown (Orange Interior) hardshell case, equipped with La Bella 0760M Stainless Steel Flatwound strings.
