This Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster takes advantage of hybrid vintage/modern features with an Alder body, Fender American-made Pure Vintage '65 Gray-Bottom pickups, 21 medium-jumbo frets, a contemporary 9.5" radius and vintage-style hardware. The foundations of the unique style of Stratocasters used by Hendrix lie in his habit of inverting the body, neck and strings to accommodate his left-handed playing. These modifications have an impact on the sound of the instrument by changing the tension of the strings: basses are tighter and more incisive, and bends are easier to make. Pure Vintage '65 pickups are very much in the Hendrix spirit, with an optimal blend of precision and warmth, and increased definition.
